Group Fitness Coordinator

Job Overview

The Group Fitness Instructor (GFI) leads safe, effective, and engaging fitness classes in a group environment. This role is responsible for delivering high-energy sessions that motivate members of all fitness levels while maintaining a strong focus on safety and proper technique. The GFI serves as a key representative of the Group Fitness team and embodies the brand’s mission by creating a positive and inclusive workout experience.

Reports To:

• Group Fitness Coordinator

• General Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct safe, effective, and engaging group fitness classes

• Maintain required certifications and continuing education

• Follow instructor sign-in and sign-out procedures

• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and facility standards

• Demonstrate knowledge of the brand and uphold its mission and values

• Respond to member requests or escalate concerns to management

• Maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times

• Ensure compliance with employee handbook policies

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid CPR/AED Certification

• Nationally accredited group fitness certification (AFAA, ACE, NASM preferred)

• Valid Yoga or Pilates certification also acceptable

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience teaching exercise classes for participants of all levels

• Strong customer service skills

• Effective verbal communication abilities

• High energy and passion for group training environments
